OSF HealthCare Saint Katharine Medical Center is pleased to welcome Hilary Thomas, APRN, to the Family Health Center, located within Town Square Centre in Dixon.
Thomas brings nearly 20 years of health care experience and a longstanding history with the organization. After graduating from nursing school in 2007, she began her career in the emergency department, where she spent 10 years as a clinical nurse caring for patients of all ages. She later served in several leadership roles, including Emergency Department supervisor, Emergency Department director and Director of Professional Practice and Development.
Although Thomas enjoyed her leadership experiences, she always envisioned returning to direct patient care.
"Going back to school was always something I wanted to do; it just took me a while to get there," Thomas said. "I wanted the opportunity to diagnose, educate and build lasting relationships with patients while helping them improve their health over time."
Thomas chose family medicine because it allows her to care for patients throughout every stage of life while building meaningful, long-term relationships with individuals and families.
"I want to get to know my patients and work together as a team," Thomas said. "Everyone's health journey is different, and my goal is to support patients in ways that help them achieve success."
