OSF Saint Katharine offering free community flu shot clinics

OSF HealthCare Saint Katharine Medical Center is helping Sauk Valley residents protect themselves and their families this flu season by offering free flu shots at multiple convenient locations throughout October.

Thanks to generous support from the OSF Foundation, flu shots will be available at no cost to individuals ages 9 and older while supplies last.

Health experts recommend an annual flu vaccination as the best way to reduce the risk of influenza, help prevent serious illness and protect vulnerable members of the community. Vaccination is especially important for older adults, young children, pregnant women and individuals with chronic health conditions.

Community members can receive a free flu shot at the following locations:

 

Dixon:

Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinics

  • Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 14
  • 8-10 a.m., noon-1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m.
  • OSF Saint Katharine Circle Drive, 403 E. First St.

Dixon Scarecrow Festival

  • Saturday, Oct. 17
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • OSF Saint Katharine Town Square Centre, 102 S. Hennepin Ave.

Oregon:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 7
  • Noon-3 p.m.
  • OSF Saint Katharine Center for Health – Oregon, 1307 W. Washington St.

To help speed up the vaccination process, participants are encouraged to download and complete a consent form before arriving. Forms are available at osfsaintkatharine.org/events.

Please note that high-dose flu vaccines will not be available at these clinics. Individuals interested in receiving a high-dose flu vaccine should contact their primary care provider to discuss availability and options.
