OSF HealthCare is pleased to welcome Ammar Aqeel, MD, to its gastroenterology team. Dr. Aqeel will see patients at OSF Medical Group – Mendota Gastroenterology, located at 1405 E. 12th Street, Ste. 400 in Mendota, as well as the OSF Medical Group – General Surgery office at 920 West Street, Medical Office Building B, LL2, Peru.
Dr. Aqeel provides comprehensive care for patients with digestive health conditions, helping them achieve better health and quality of life through personalized treatment plans, advanced diagnostic procedures and evidence-based care.
Dr. Aqeel specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the digestive system. His expertise includes managing disorders of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder, as well as performing endoscopic procedures to identify and treat gastrointestinal conditions.
He completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Mercyhealth in Rockford. Dr. Aqeel also served as a teaching attending physician with the Mercyhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program and was chief resident for the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford/Mercyhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program.
