In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, OSF HealthCare invites community members to bring their beloved pets to a special Blessing of the Pets at some of our local OSF facilities throughout the region.
These gatherings offer an opportunity to celebrate the joy, companionship and unconditional love that animals bring to our lives while honoring the legacy of St. Francis, who was known for his compassion and care for all living creatures.
Community members are welcome to attend any of the following Blessing of the Pets events:
OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center – Ottawa | 1100 East Norris Drive
Monday, October 5 | 1-3 p.m. | Gazebo by the Rehabilitation parking lot on the east side of the hospital
OSF Center for Health – Streator | 111 Spring Street
Thursday, October 8 | 1-3 p.m. | Overflow parking lot, located on the northwest of the facility off Tyler Street
OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center – Peru | 925 West Street
Thursday, October 8 | 4:30-5:30 p.m. | Hospital parking lot next to the main entrance
OSF Saint Paul Medical Center | 1401 East 12th Street | Mendota
Friday, October 9 | 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. | Serenity Garden on the west side of the hospital
Guests are encouraged to bring their pets for a special blessing. For the safety and comfort of all attendees, pets should be on a leash or in a carrier.
