OSF HealthCare Saint Katharine Center for Health in Sterling is celebrating its first anniversary in October, marking a year of significant growth in providers, specialty services and access to care for residents throughout Sterling, Rock Falls and the surrounding communities.
When the clinic opened on October 13, 2025, it became the first OSF Saint Katharine location in Sterling. Initially offering family medicine, general surgery and podiatry services, the center has since expanded its provider roster and service offerings to include:
- Family medicine: Jennifer Hernandez, APRN, and Caitlin Ehlers, APRN
- Gastroenterology: Taylor Carroll, APRN
- General surgery: Matthew Hefty, MD and Andrew Feyh, MD
- Infectious disease: Abdulhamid Alkhalaf, MD
- Orthopedics: Chris Herbert, APRN
- Podiatry: Nathan Mauren, DPM
- Women's health: Dana Hoffman, CNM
"One year ago, we opened our doors with three service lines and a commitment to make health care more accessible for the communities we serve," said Jessica Dowdall, director of clinical operations for physician offices. "The growth we've experienced over the past year reflects both the needs of our community and our commitment to providing high-quality care."
In addition to receiving care locally, patients have access to the expertise, coordinated care teams and specialized services available throughout the OSF HealthCare system.
