November is National Hospice Month, and during this time, the “Ring Bells for Hospice” campaign will launch locally and throughout the state to create awareness of hospice organizations and philosophy.
On Monday, November 3, community members are invited to join the staff and volunteers from OSF Home Care & Hospice and North Woods Home Care & Hospice to ring bells in memory of those in our community who have passed this year while in hospice care. We will meet on the lawn of the Escanaba Seventh-day Adventist Church pantry, behind Walgreens, at the corner of South Lincoln Road and 1st Avenue South at approximately noon EST for the bell ringing.
We will begin to gather at 11:45 a.m. and share in hot chocolate and soup. The program itself will be about 30 minutes, and will consist of a prayer, a moment of silence (at noon) and singing. We have also asked our community churches to ring their bells at noon. Please join us.
If you have any questions or requests for interviews, please contact Danielle Carlson at (906) 233-4204 or email at danielle.m.carlson@osfhealthcare.org
