OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is thrilled to recognize the 2025 Sunflower Award Winner, Jill Moraski. Jill is a Patient Access associate at OSF Saint Luke. Jill was nominated for the Sunflower Award for kindness, compassion and supportive care.
When patients are in the hospital, away from familiar surroundings, it can often lead to stress and confusion. Jill demonstrated extraordinary compassion for a patient experiencing those very challenges. She spent meaningful time with the patient, offering steady support throughout the day.
“She assisted her with meals, listened as the patient reminisced and provided comfort during moments of tears,” the nomination reads. Jill’s presence offered peace and reassurance during a difficult time. “Jill remained with the patient until her transportation arrived and accompanied her to the door. This support facilitated a smoother transition and helped maintain her calm.”
The nominator went on to say, “Jill is an exceptionally compassionate individual, and the level of empathy she extends to others is remarkable!”
“Outstanding nursing care is recognized through the DAISY Award, but there are Mission Partners, like Jill, who are not nurses, providing extraordinary care. It’s awesome to be able to recognize them with Sunflower awards, they are all truly deserving of the honor,” said Kory Tinkham, vice president of Operations and Special Projects at OSF Saint Luke.
Recipients for the Sunflower Award are nominated by patients, the families of patients or employees throughout the past year. The Sunflower Award winners receive an award pin, certificate, sculpture, embroidered tote bag, bouquet of sunflowers and a banner displayed in their department for the year.
