As part of a multi-phase construction project to expand and enhance Emergency Department services, OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center will open a temporary entrance to the Emergency Department beginning Monday, August 11, 2025.

The current Emergency Department entrance will be closed for approximately 4-6 weeks to allow for construction that will increase capacity and improve efficiency in caring for patients in our community. During this time, a temporary Emergency Department entrance will be available directly south of the existing entrance.

This temporary entrance is designated exclusively for Emergency Department patients and visitors. Please note that there will be no public access from the Emergency Department to the rest of the hospital during this phase. Signage will be posted to help direct patients and visitors to the correct location.

All non-emergency patients and visitors should continue to use the main hospital entrance, which will remain open during normal business hours. For added assistance, a security officer will be stationed in the Main Lobby during this period.

After visiting hours conclude at 8 p.m., visitors may use the video phone located outside the main entrance to contact the operator. A security officer will then be dispatched to provide assistance.

OSF HealthCare appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this phase of construction, as we work to enhance the care we provide for our region.
