OSF HealthCare is excited to announce the launch of its new Youth Advisory Board (YAB), a pilot program of the I-80 Innovation Hub, and is now accepting applications from students in the Mendota area. This includes students from Mendota, LaMoille, Earlville, Leland, and Paw Paw.
The Youth Advisory Board will serve as a platform for youth ages 12-18 (grades 6-12) to share their ideas, perspectives, and leadership to help improve the health and well-being of their peers across the region. Members will work together as a team to influence programs, events, and initiatives that directly impact youth in their schools and local communities.
“Engaging youth in conversations about health, wellness, and community impact is not only empowering for them—it’s essential for the future of public health,” said Jason Drummet, OSF Mission Partner and lead ideator of the project. “By establishing the Youth Advisory Board, we’re creating a space where young people in the Mendota area can develop leadership skills, cultivate civic responsibility, and provide invaluable insight into the unique challenges and opportunities their generation faces.”
