OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center proudly announces the start of radiation oncology services, extending crucial support to patients battling cancer.
“I could not be more thankful to our Sisters and leadership for supporting the vision of a rural cancer center hub here in Galesburg,” said Lisa DeKezel, president of OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center. “It’s a commitment we have made to serve our entire rural region with best in class, high-quality oncology services locally.”
The combination of these services at OSF St. Mary and those that will be provided at the new OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute in Peoria will help ensure patients in the Galesburg area are able to receive a full range of cancer care services close to home. It will also broaden oncology services to patients across Illinois.
The OSF Cancer Institute is scheduled to open in February. It will offer proton beam therapy and brachytherapy, an infusion center, patient education and support spaces, and a full range of cancer care services.
