As a partner in the international DAISY Award program that recognizes nurses' extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care, OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center recently awarded its DAISY Award to Sarah Anderson, RN. Sarah was awarded the DAISY Award for her companionate care. The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of ITP, an autoimmune disease.
The Sunflower Award was recently awarded to Vicki Zeigler, patient care. Vicki was also nominated for her compassionate care. The Sunflower Award is awarded to a staff member who delivers compassionate care and outstanding service to our patients, families, and visitor’s needs.
OSF HealthCare encourages patients, family members, and fellow staff to recognize caregivers who have provided exceptional care and service by nominating them for an award to honor their dedication.
