OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group and Bellin Health are pleased to announce an exclusive partnership that will expand cardiovascular services in Delta County and the surrounding area.
OSF Cardiovascular Care with Bellin Health will open later this summer in the OSF Medical Group - Escanaba. This new cardiology clinic will be located in the OSF Medical Office Building and will expand availability by seeing patients five days a week.
In addition, a cardiac catheterization lab is scheduled to open in winter 2024 (tentative date). This new cardiac catheterization lab will be housed in OSF St. Francis Hospital and led by the Bellin Health cardiovascular team. It will provide patients with a continuity of care by increasing access to tests and procedures while reducing the need to travel and long wait periods for appointments.
Cardiac cath labs are where minimally invasive testing and advanced cardiac procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease are performed. This cardiac cath lab will be equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology used to view arteries and check how well blood is flowing to and from the heart. This provides the care team with information to help diagnose and treat blockages and other problems in the arteries, often without patients needing to undergo surgery.
“In today’s health care climate, building strong partnerships to provide specialty services is imperative, especially in rural health care facilities like ours,” said Kelly Jefferson, president, OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. “Being able to provide enhanced cardiovascular services close to home supports our Mission, patients and community, allowing us to serve with the greatest care and love and meet their medical needs through collaboration and innovation.”
“Bellin Health looks forward to further serving the Escanaba community through this partnership,” said Bellin Health Regional President Chris Woleske. “We are proud to team up with a trusted local health care provider in OSF, and to provide more care closer to home for the patients we serve in this area. We truly are stronger together.”
Additional details and updates will be shared as the new clinic prepares to open later this summer and the construction of the cardiac catheterization lab gets underway. If you would like to learn more about cardiovascular care in Escanaba, please call (800) 472-3242.
