OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is pleased to announce that Sara Umphfleet, MPP-D, RD, LDN, has received the top award of Illinois Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND). Sara is a registered dietitian serving as the Nutrition Services supervisor in addition to her clinical practice.
Sara has been a registered dietitian since 2016 after completing her undergraduate studies and dietetic internship at Iowa State University. While working as a clinical dietitian, she completed her Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics at Iowa State University in 2020. Sara is the Immediate Past President and website design chair for the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Sara was awarded the Illinois Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award in 2019.
The Outstanding Dietitian of the Year award recognizes the commitment to excellence made by an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and services to the profession.
Sara lives on a family farm in Kewanee with her husband Brandon LeSage and dachshund Finn Henry. She enjoys exercising, reading for leisure and trying new recipes. She loves educating individuals on nutrition and enjoys helping people reach their health and fitness goals.
