(KEWANEE, IL | July 29, 2020) – OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is pleased to offer the McCarthy Family Scholarship, Ruth Neff Memorial Nursing Scholarship, and Elizabeth Baethke Memorial Scholarship. Each scholarship was founded to recognize and encourage students pursuing a career in the health care field.
- The McCarthy Family Scholarship is offered for students pursuing a Registered Nurse (RN) designation or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). One McCarthy Family Scholarship recipient will be chosen annually. The maximum scholarship award is $8,000, payable over the course of the recipient’s education until their RN or BSN designation is obtained. $1000 will be awarded for each semester of full-time coursework. The McCarthy Family Scholarship recipient would be required to work for OSF HealthCare for a minimum length of time following completion of his or her RN/BSN program.
- The Ruth Neff Memorial Nursing Scholarship is available for students enrolled in their final year of a Registered Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The $700 scholarship is awarded annually to be based on financial need, scholastic achievement, and long term professional and personal goals. The scholarship is paid directly to the recipient to be applied for tuition, books, and or lab fees.
- Elizabeth Baethke Memorial Scholarship is a $700 scholarship available for applicants enrolled in a program of study for any allied health fields, including nursing, dietetics, medical record library science, pharmacy, x-ray technology, medical social work, occupational or physical therapy, medical technology, laboratory sciences, surgical services, kinesiology, respiratory therapy or speech pathology.
