Residents of Mendota, Streator and their surrounding areas will have increased access to urgent care facilities starting this fall, thanks to OSF HealthCare.
Beginning Monday, October 21, OSF PromptCare will open at 1405 E. 12th Street, Suite 400, in Mendota. Adjacent to existing OSF Medical Group primary care offices, the new urgent care clinic will be available to anyone, regardless of whether or not they are an existing OSF patient.
“As we discussed the future of delivering care across a rural setting, we heard the voice of our communities loud and clear,” stated Paula Swank, Director of Physician Offices for OSF HealthCare. “It was important that we fill that urgent care gap in Mendota and Streator to meet the needs of those who rely on us to keep them healthy.”
Both Mendota and Streator locations will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Streator site is scheduled to open at OSF HealthCare Center for Health – Streator upon completion of renovations in early December.
The two new clinics join existing OSF PromptCare locations in Ottawa, following the addition of two new OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinics in Ottawa and Morris this past year. Both types of facilities are designed to treat minor illnesses and injuries including cold or flu, minor burns, sprains, strains or fractures, pink eye, urinary tract infections and more.
“By increasing our local footprint, we offer residents greater flexibility to choose the urgent care options that best meet their needs,” said Swank, “whether that’s at home, work or play. Evening and weekend visits are also available.”
Swank also referenced several new online tools designed to enhance the overall urgent care experience. Patients are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to schedule advance appointments or to simply hold their place in line. Anticipated wait times and real-time hours of operation are also available.
