Ottawa Township High School graduate, Bailee Hubbard, is the 2019 recipient of the Don Morehead Community Service Scholarship.
The $1,000 award will assist Ms. Hubbard’s higher education goals. She will attend the University of Missouri in the fall with plans to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and work in a children’s hospital.
Selection for the award is based on the student’s completion of the scholarship application, as well as overall citizenship, community involvement and other criteria.
The Don Morehead Community Service Scholarship was established by OSF Medical Group-Ottawa in honor of the retired physician and his over 50 years of dedicated volunteerism and service to the community. That included many years on the Ottawa School Board, where Dr. Morehead was committed to preparing young adults to become productive citizens and future leaders.
The scholarship is open to Ottawa Township High School students who commit to continuing their education following graduation.
